朱立倫日前訪問新加坡時，與李光耀兒子、新加坡總理李顯龍會面時，朱立倫曾關心過李光耀的身體狀況。
朱立倫在臉書上表示，10幾年來，他多次有機會向李光耀請益，也深刻感受到李光耀與故總統蔣經國的情誼。
朱立倫說，他和李光耀相距近40歲，但每次與李光耀見面時，聽李光耀談起對世局的精闢見解以及城市治理的經驗，仍能深深感受到李光耀時時關心台灣，總能體會到李不斷關懷提攜後輩。
朱立倫說，做為新加坡建國總理的李光耀，對新加坡與世界的貢獻，很難一一細數。朱也說，最難過的是台灣失去了一位關心的老朋友，他失去一位可以學習請益的長輩。
